Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is one of the most extensively studied peptides in longevity, telomere biology, and neuroendocrine regulation research, with over 40 years of preclinical and clinical research behind it.
Telomere Biology Research
Epitalon is most widely studied for its role in telomerase activation — the enzyme responsible for maintaining and elongating telomere length. Research has explored its ability to stimulate telomerase expression in somatic cells, making it one of the most cited compounds in cellular ageing and longevity research literature.
